What Is The Daily Mile?
It’s a free, fun, non-competitive physical activity in primary schools and nurseries during class time.
Children run, wheel or walk together outdoors for 15 minutes, at least three times a week. Created by teachers for the benefit of our children in response to the growing health crisis.
The Daily Mile helps children move more, feel better, and stay active—regardless of age, ability, or circumstances.
It’s simple, fun, and free!
Our commitment to inclusion
At The Daily Mile, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to move, belong and thrive.
We are committed to removing barriers to participation and supporting inclusive practice for disabled children and children with additional support needs or special educational needs and disabilities (ASN/SEND), as well as children growing up in areas of deprivation or facing wider inequalities.
We work with schools, partners and people with lived experience to ensure The Daily Mile is flexible, accessible and shaped by the voices of children emphasising dignity, choice and wellbeing.
Inclusion is not an add-on to our work; it is central to everything we do.
We prioritise children’s safety and wellbeing in everything we do and encourage schools to follow their safeguarding procedures when delivering The Daily Mile.
